Nowadays, there is a steadfast increase of people who want to undergo hair transplant surgery for hair restoration. Why? The answer is plain and simple: it is because hair transplantation offers the quickest path to end hair loss problems once and for all.
Indeed, hair transplantation is highly accepted as a modern method to treat hair loss and hair thinning problems. More than that, this surgical hair restoration procedure provides a natural-looking hair at the same time offers the only permanent solution to stop the onslaught of this condition.
A hair transplant is defined as the surgical removal of hair grafts from donor sites located on the sides and the back of the head and transplanting these DHT-resistant hair grafts into the balding and thinning areas of the patient’s scalp known as the recipient site.
Donor sites comprise of follicles which are insusceptible to DHT (dihydrotestosterone), the main cause of 95% of hair loss. This implies that the hair on the back and sides of the head are said to be donor dominant, meaning hair will continue to grow in these areas throughout the life of most people.

Homeopathic Medication: An Alternative Solution to Hair Loss
Homeopathy is an unconventional method of hair loss treatment that makes use of highly diluted substances to trigger the body’s natural healing process.
This art of healing treats hair loss victims on a deeper scale by looking into the person’s lifestyle, genetic composition, family history and other factors that might trigger the onslaught of this condition.
Homeopathy for hair loss treatment is a unique form of medication that takes into consideration the psychosomatic links which are viewed as the culprit of hair loss, hair fall, and hair thinning problems. Psychosomatic is the term used to describe the influence of the mind on the body and vice versa, especially with respect to a disease or illness.
The homeopaths, or the professionals who practice homeopathy, will take an in-depth account of all aspects of the person’s personal, mental and physical state. Because homeopaths believe that any physical ailment has a mental and emotional component, the right remedy for the said condition will take all of these aspects into consideration so that each diagnosis and treatment methodology is individualised.

Make the Hair Look Thicker and Fuller with These Tips
During summer, having thin, fine and limp hair is definitely not in. Since the season is about being free, fun and spontaneous, most people go for voluminous tresses to create perfect beach waves.
However, not everyone is blessed with a thick head of hair to flaunt during the summer. But fret not, it only takes a little bit of magic and some hair care tricks to get a thicker and fuller hair.
Follow these tips to achieve a summer-ready crowning glory:
*Work out the locks
It is important to understand the distinction between fine hair and thin hair. The term “fine” refers to the individual hair strand’s actual diameter; while the term “thin” refers to the density of the strands.
If a person naturally has fine hair, then there would be no way to plump it up. However, for those with thin hair, there are ways to increase the density of the strands and make them fuller.
One can rejuvenate thin hair by maintaining a diet rich in proteins; vitamins A, D, B-complex; iron and biotin as they can help stimulate hair growth. These can be found in vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.

Save Your Scalp from Hair Loss with the Leimo Shampoo
Looking for the best hair loss shampoo can be a tedious task. With the thousands of shampoos in the market, finding the most suitable product can be stressful and disconcerting.
Before you go shopping for the right shampoo, it is necessary to know the key factors which are vital in effectively choosing a treatment for your hair loss and hair thinning condition.
One important thing to remember in choosing a shampoo for hair loss is the fact that the product is an excellent DHT inhibitor. DHT stands for dihydrotestosterone, a by-product of the male hormone testosterone and the enzyme 5-alpha reductase. It causes hair loss and hair thinning when it attaches itself to the receptors of the hair follicles, making the hair follicles produce finer and thinner hair strands. What’s even worse is that when there is an over-production of DHT in the scalp, it causes the hair follicle to become dormant or inactive. With that, we should keep in mind that an effective hair loss shampoo should lessen the effects of DHT in the scalp to promote healthier hair growth.
Moreover, utilising natural and herbal ingredients like saw palmetto and nettle which are known powerful natural DHT blockers also guarantee a safe yet effective hair loss treatment. DHT blockers can help prevent damage to the hair follicles and help deliver proper nourishment to the hair roots.

Give Your Hair a Big Blowout with the Proper Blow-Drying Technique
If there is one place in the world where the crowning glory seems to be always at its best, that would be none other than a hair salon.
For quite some time, it has always baffled women why the hair feels and looks beautiful after a professional blow-dry at a salon. Yet, when they try to do the job themselves, they can’t seem to get half of the results they experience in a hair salon. Is a hair salon a magical place or do stylists practice some hair care occultism to tame the locks?
Actually, they do not. It all boils down to proper blow-drying techniques.
By following these tips, one can achieve vibrant and gorgeous hair:
*Start with damp hair, not dripping-wet hair
Always start with damp hair when blow-drying. It will take much longer for excessively soaked hair to dry and, in effect, may expose the hair extensively to heat. One can slightly towel off the hair or blot the water out of it to stop dripping. Rubbing the hair with towel is taboo in hair care since frizz may develop due to the friction.

Hair Care Tips for Brides for Their Big Day
A wedding is one of the most important events in a woman’s life as this could only (ideally) happen once. That is why it is a must for future brides to look and be at their best on their day.
Normally, it takes months or even years to prepare all of the things for the event. You’d have to decide on dresses or suits, venues, invitation cards, food-and the list goes on. But for the bride-to-be, the hairstyle is an equally important detail that cannot be missed. It has to be perfect, come the wedding day.
Here are important hair care tips for brides to achieve their ideal hair on their big day:
*Befriend your hair. Knowing what type of hair one has is necessary to be able to use the proper products that can nourish and strengthen one’s strands. Whether it be oily, dry, or limp, every hair type needs to be taken cared of accordingly.
*Be wary of hairstyling products. Straightening or curling irons, hair sprays, mousse, or gels-all of these must be used sparingly as the wedding day nears. As much as possible, keep the hair away from products or chemicals that are likely to cause damaging effects. It is important to keep the hair healthy to prepare it for the big day.

Protein discovery could lead to treatment of early baldness

Male pattern baldness
The research
New medications being researched
'No cure for baldness'
A treatment for thinning hair could be developed after US researchers identify a protein that could be responsible for male pattern baldness
29th March 2012 - Researchers in the US have identified a chemical that could be responsible for the most common cause of baldness in men, and their discovery could lead to more effective and targeted treatments.
One UK expert described the findings as "promising", and said while it would not pave the way for a cure for baldness, it could help men who were beginning to lose their hair.
Male pattern baldness
Male pattern baldness affects about 80% of men under the age of 70. It occurs when hair follicles shrink and produce microscopic hairs which grow for a shorter amount of time than normal follicles. The main symptom is a receding hairline and hair loss at the crown of the head. Toward the end of the stages of male pattern baldness, the only hair remaining is in a horseshoe pattern around the base of the scalp.
According to a study in Science Translational Medicine, bald men tend to have an abnormal amount of a protein called prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) on their scalps. This protein and its derivative, 15-dPGJ2, inhibit hair growth.
"We have really identified a factor that is way out of whack by actually studying the disorder," says Dr George Cotsarelis, a professor of dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania.
The research
The researchers looked for potential biological causes of baldness, examining scalp tissue from balding and non-bald spots from men with male pattern baldness - also known as androgenetic alopecia - and then corroborating their findings using mice.
They found that levels of PGD2 protein in bald areas of the scalp were three times higher than in areas of the scalp where hair was growing. When the researchers added PGD2 to cultured hair follicles, the hair was significantly shorter, while its derivative, 15-dPGJ2, completely blocked hair growth.
New medications being researched
The authors write that their findings should lead to new medications which inhibit the action of PGD2 and delay male pattern baldness. "This should work in all men who have male pattern baldness,” Dr Cotsarelis tells us. Some companies are already developing such compounds, in one case for asthma. “It shouldn’t take too long,” he says.
The authors call for further studies that might involve testing creams, and could also determine whether targeting prostaglandins will benefit women with male pattern baldness.
'No cure for baldness'
"This is very promising research and much better than anything that's come out in the last few years," says Marilyn Sherlock, chairman of the Institute of Trichologists. However, she tells us: "I would be very surprised if this helps a bald man."
Mrs Sherlock believes treatments based on this research would be more likely to benefit someone seeing their hair beginning to thin. "Once a hair follicle has completely collapsed and shrivelled and disappeared, you can't make a hair grow there unless you transplant it," she says.

Future Hair Loss Treatment: Where Is the Cure?
Hair restoration is a multi-billion-dollar industry, so much so that attempts of developing a cure for baldness should be no news.
Science and technology is on an unfaltering pursuit of producing a miracle treatment, not only to restore hair but also to boost millions of scathed egos.
However, while none of these developments is commercially feasible for the time being, these purported future hair loss treatment methodologies shoot up the hopes of millions of hair loss sufferers around the world.
Below are some of the most promising future hair loss treatment techniques:
Bioengineered Hair Follicle Tissue
A group of Japanese researchers led by Takashi Tsuji successfully used bioengineered hair follicle tissues derived from adult stem cells in treating naturally bald mice.
When transplanted into the bald mice, the bioengineered hair follicles underwent the same process of hair growth and cycling. Scientists expressed that this technique will be the ultimate hope for people with alopecia.
In the next three years, the group will begin clinical trials on humans. Researchers add that this treatment may already be available in the next ten years.
Hair Clones
In this technique, hair follicles are re-created or cloned to act like donor hairs in a traditional hair transplantation procedure. As a matter of fact, this is an evolutionary concept of the traditional hair transplantation procedure.
With hair cloning, donor hair cells, which are taken from the existing hair follicles, are grown in vitro (outside the body). Once the hair cells multiply, they are injected back into the scalp in the hope to regrow hair.
On the downside, scientists will have to conduct larger clinical trials to understand the potential and limitations of hair cloning completely.
Protein Blockers
Recently, a group of researchers discovered a “new” major cause of hair loss in many men: prostaglandin D2 (PGD2).
PGD2 is a kind of protein that inhibits hair growth. This protein has been found in excess levels in men with severe androgenetic alopecia or pattern baldness.
In mice models, PGD2 levels rose just before the onset of the catagen phase. These findings suggest that protein blockers may come in handy to stop hair loss miraculously and restore hair.
Genetic Testing
While the aforementioned techniques are corrective, genetic testing is all-preventive. In other words, this measure could prevent hair loss before it could even occur.
The biopharmaceutical company, deCODE genetics Inc., in Iceland renders a personal genotyping service, predicting whether a person will lose his or her hair in the future.
If a person is tested positive, then she or he can begin using conventional treatments such as low-level laser therapy, topical minoxidil, or saw palmetto extracts.
Hopefully, with further studies and clinical trials, these professed future hair loss treatment techniques can become the ultimate cure for baldness.
